The shape and design of Pivot and the subsequent Gateway series, reflect the mathematical symbol of Pi. This incorporates the concept both of the circle and the idea of infinity. The circle in Hinduism and Buddhism refers to heaven bound, but the pillars of the gateway anchor this symbol in the earth.
